Ms Rachel Toh
Jazz Teacher; RAD Registered Teacher
Biography
Ms Rachel Toh started dancing since the age of 3, majoring in Classical Ballet. Through her junior school years, she had been participating actively in concerts, performing on stage, showcasing her talents in dance. She had been scoring Distinctions and High Merits for the RAD Graded Examinations from Grade 1 to higher vocational levels – Advance 1.
In her secondary school years, Rachel showed interest in choreographing dance, she started exploring other dances as a budding choreographer. Being a versatile dancer, she had scored Honours for the ATOD Jazz Silver Medal and Gold Medal and Gold Star. She had also travelled to Sydney Dance Company, Hong Kong and Korea Universal Ballet for dance exchange programmes together with Dancepointe.
Through the years, Rachel has actively participated in countless CSTD competitions, and was part of troupes representing Dancepointe, attaining 1st positions. Ensembles and trios she was part of had also attained multiple awards. She also moved on to exploring street dance with the MV Avenue team with Dancepointe. Rachel continues her dance journey, competing in many street dance competitions with her crew, Habé, emerging as finalists.
Rachel also led Dancepointe Junior Apprentice items, in her leadership, the group won Honourable Mention in the Singapore CSTD Dance Competition. She had also led many soloists through their solo pieces.
Ms Rachel Toh had completed the Royal Academy of Dance Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies (CBTS) under the guidance of Ms Lena Foo. She is appointed as a Registered Teacher of the RAD. She is also the founder of Butterworks, Singapore’s Youtube Channel and Film Production House. She is currently also a filmmaking adjunct lecturer for universities.
