Biography

Ms Ong Yan Ping started classical ballet with Royal Academy of Dancing (RAD) since the age of 4 and has attained Grade 1 to 8, major grades Intermediate and Advanced 1. With her great passion in dancing and determination to share her dance knowledge with the future generations, she furthered on to obtain the Certificate of Ballet Teaching Studies (CBTS). For the past 3 years, she has been teaching the RAD syllabus in community centres and has sent her lower grades students for the RAD Ballet examinations. She is now embarking on her teaching career with Dancepointe.

Besides being trained in Classical Ballet with RAD, Yan Ping is also exposed to other different genres such as Street Jazz and Lyrical Contemporary at various dance schools including Oschool. She has been actively involved as a dancer as well as a choreographer in numerous school concert events performance, dance recitals such as Oschool and Recognise Studio Recitals and dance competitions including The Royal Dance-off Contemporary Dance Competition, in which she and her team were one of the finalists.

During her times in the tertiary education level, she took up the leadership post of Vice-Chairman of Singapore Polytechnic Dance Club (SDZ), and led a club of 150 dancers. She had been a student choreographer, choreographing dance items for 3 consecutive years in the SP Dance Club annual concerts that are held in Kallang Theatre. Now, she has become a Registered Teacher of the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) since 2013.
