Biography
Ms Crystal Lum started training in ballet at the age of 6 under Miss Lena Foo. She obtained straight Distinctions for her Royal Academy of Dance examinations (RAD) from Primary to Grade 7 and the Vocational Graded Advanced Foundation Level. Crystal had achieved RAD Vocational Graded – Advanced 1 for her training in Classical Ballet. She also received Highly Commended for the ATODI Jazz Gold Medal Level exam.
With her passion in dance, she had joined the Dance Society in Secondary School. There, she was trained under Mdm Ding Hong who was from Beijing Academy of Dance and during her stay there; she participated in two Singapore Youth Festivals and achieved Gold and Silver awards in 2005 and 2007 respectively. In addition to her exposure in Classical Ballet and Chinese Dance, Crystal learnt Hip Hop and was part of Ngee Ann Polytechnic’s New Revolving Age (NRA) Dance Club and participated in performances such as Danzation and Dance For Fund.
Crystal has been active in Dancepointe Programs such as the Overseas Dance Tour to Beijing Dance Academy, Liao Ning Ballet and Sydney Dance Company for more exposure and training. In 2012, she led the Dancepointe Elite team to Hong Kong for the 14th CSTD Asia Pacific Dance Competition. From there, she has been actively preparing items for competition. Since then, the initiative to train girls for competition evolved into the Apprentice Programme, which Miss Lum has been mentoring yearly.

Crystal has also been choreographing for past Dancepointe Concerts from Magical Wonders(2008) to Nutcracker(2011), Alice in Wonderland (2013), to the most recent DPA 10th Year Anniversary Concert. Her girls were even invited to perform at Okto! Live in 2012.
Ms Crystal Lum had completed the Royal Academy of Dance Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies (RAD CBTS) with Dancepointe, under the tutelage of Ms Lena Foo. She is appointed as a Registered Teacher of the RAD and has been teaching for 9 years with Dancepointe since 2009. She is among the rest who had received the Dancepointe RAD CBTS Sponsorship.
