Dance Schools in Singapore

Leane started her ballet training at the age of 4 under our founder Ms Lena Foo. She completed the Royal Academy Of Dance up to Advanced 2 with straight Distinctions. She also earned the honourable mention for Classical, Neo Classical and Lyrical solo as well as 1st Place for Pas de Deux with fellow dancer, Shan. At age 13, Leanne was accepted into The School Of The Arts Singapore, specializing in Dance.

In 2012, she received a scholarship offer to further her training at the Central School of Ballet in London, where she graduated with a First Class BA (Hons) degree in Professional Dance and Performance in November 2015. Being a home grown student of Dancepointe Academy, the school also supported her with a Bursary to support her living expenses in London.

While at the vocational school, she choreographed a neoclassical piece in the school’s choreographic platform and it was selected to perform at the City of London Festival. In her graduate year, she also danced with Ballet Central Touring Company all around United Kingdom, and performed in works by namely Christopher Hampson and Kit Holder.

Upon returning to Singapore after her UK studies, from the recommendation of our Founder Ms Lena Foo, Leane entered Singapore Dance Theatre as a Apprentice Dancer. Currently, Leane is a full-time Artist with the Singapore Dance Theatre and has performed professionally with the Company since 2015. Some of the most recent productions include, Swan Lake (2019), Giselle (2019), Serenade (2019), Don Quixote (2019), The Sleeping Beauty (2018), The Nutcracker (2018), The Four Temperaments (2018) and Coppelia (2018).
