Biography
Ms Melynda Teng started classical ballet with Royal Academy of Dancing (RAD) since the age of 4 with Ms Kok Hui Shi, and obtained her Grade 1-8, Intermediate and Advanced 1. Her love for ballet extended to taking up contemporary dance as her Co-Curricular Activities (CCA). She was selected to do solo for several events such as teachers’ day.
Having the loved, determination and passion for dance; it allowed her to pursue her Diploma in Dance at LASALLE College of the Arts.
Studying in LASALLE gave her the opportunity to be exposed to different dance styles such as, contemporary, jazz, hip-hop, salsa and different types of Asian dance.During her training, she had performed extensively with the school. She had worked with many renowned choreographers from around the world and performed “Praying Mantis” by Vision of the Dance Production Barcelona Company, in Esplanade Theatre in October 2013. She also danced in “mimetic recall” for a choreographer, John Mead, for his masters’ thesis final project.
