Dancepointe Academy (DPA) is proud to be part of the Annual Chingay Parade 2017!

Theme: Soundwaves Chingay, WeCare Singapore ( 狮韵妆艺, 同心关怀新加坡 )

A Water, Fire, Snow, Xinyao and Musical Parade to celebrate Chingay 45!

DPA is excited to extend this participation to our Dancepointe and dACADEMY ballet and contemporary students! The DPA Segment will be choreographed by dACADEMY’s Artistic Director, Mr Dan Kwoh. The Chingay Parade is a National Event, and is also the largest street performance and float parade in Asia. It is a uniquely Singaporean Lunar New Year tradition, and this National Street Parade is now celebrated by the various ethnic groups in Singapore. Participating in the Chingay Festival will be a good learning experience and performance opportunity for our very own dancers.

Highlights of this involvement:

• A prestigious National Event by invitation only
• The Parade of our very own 350 DPA dancers will be telecasted on TV
• Certificate of Participation will be given
• Participation in Chingay Festival can contribute to the dancer’s Community Involvement Programme (CIP) hours required by their academic school, depending on their respective academic school’s discretion.

KPOP Dance Singapore

Congratulations to the Competition and Performance TEAMdpa 2016 who had competed in the recent 18th CSTD Regional Dance Competition at ACJC Auditorium! Our dedicated dancers with the creative choreographies by our very own DPA Teachers had earned over 30 achievements, including our team of 140 dancers who were all placed in the 7 Group Items!

With the aim of allowing dancers to perform, exchange, and compete on a National and International stage, it was indeed a fulfilling year for TEAMdpa dancers immersing themselves in the China Dance Exchange at Liaoning Ballet of China and Beijing Dance Academy from 12th – 20th June 2016! They attended the 5 days’ dance classes (Ballet and Contemporary) at Liaoning Ballet of China in Shenyang. which is one of the Asia top dance schools who produces professional dancers yearly for international dance companies in China, Europe and Australia.

DPA would like to recognise the outstanding dancers who were placed 1st Position in their SOLO items with the 2017 TEAMdpa Scholarship. 9 Days 8 Nights Seoul Dance Exchange Programme – Universal Ballet Company and Sunhwa Arts School

As part of Dancepointe Academy DPA’s objectives in delivering Overseas Exchange opportunities, we are pleased to bring a total of 42 DPA students from our Grade 6 to Advanced level to Korea; Seoul, from the 11^th to 19^th December 2016, for a dance exchange programme. This programme is a highlight for our whole year’s programme, besides the Dance Educational tours to Singapore Dance Theatre and The Esplanade.  We are pleased to have such great opportunities with these prestigious dance company and institution for an exchange. Through this exchange, we will achieve the following objectives:

• Experience and exposure of receiving classes in internationally renowned dance companies and schools. Universal Ballet Company (UBC), Universal Ballet Academy (UBA) and Sunhwa Arts School.
• Expose dancers to the unique dance culture in Korea. Explore Seoul Arts Centre
• Provide great inspiration to our students
• Enhance friendships and bonding among DPA and Korean dance students
• Visits to places of interests such as Seoul Tower, Hongik University Street, Shinchon Fashion streets, Myeongdong, Dongdaemum, and  Namsan Hanok Village

*Highlight : Sunhwa Arts students will be dancing together with DPA students and foster good learning experiences together.

Universal Ballet Company is based in Seoul, Korea with dancers and staff from more than a dozen countries throughout Europe, the US and Asia. UBC embodies the blending of the grace and harmony of Asian culture with the strength and beauty of western ballet. Dedicated to preserve the rich tradition of European classical ballet and following the trends in contemporary choreography, the company continues to be the leading force of ballet in Korea.

Sunhwa Arts School offers a 6-year program of study that includes a fully accredited middle and high school academy program with pre-professional course in Ballet. Sunhwa’s ballet program is based on the Vaganova method of classical Ballet, designed in the early 20^th century in Russia.
